Photo Story: The Day Music Died

Part of a collection of short stories inspired by a moment in time. 300 words or less to challenge myself

The girl, her steps hesitant, turned one last time and saw the shopkeeper place the instrument front and center in the window. Memories of laughter, hugs that smelt of peppermint and impromptu concerts where deep notes flowed fast and sure like a rushing river flashed through her mind.

“Rest well, Papa. We’ll see each other again someday.” she breathed.
